Net Magnito Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Inferno Tech ("Inferno Tech", "we", "us", or "our") provides the Net Magnito Android application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use the App, why it is handled, and the choices available to you.

Net Magnito is a peer-to-peer file-transfer client. Most torrent data, downloaded files, preferences, and resume information remain on your device. We do not operate a torrent search index, user account service, or cloud storage service for your downloaded content.

1. Information handled on your device

The App may store the following locally:

  • torrent metadata, magnet links, tracker addresses, file selections, priorities, transfer statistics, and resume state;
  • downloaded or partially downloaded files in app storage or a folder you select;
  • settings such as bandwidth limits, schedules, network restrictions, proxy configuration, and privacy controls;
  • search and filter history for content already present in the App; and
  • temporary media-streaming data needed for local playback or casting.

Proxy credentials, when supplied, are stored using Android-backed secure storage. Files exported to a folder you select remain there until you delete them, including after the App is uninstalled.

2. Peer-to-peer network disclosures

Torrent transfers inherently communicate with third parties that are not controlled by Inferno Tech. Depending on the torrent and your settings, your IP address, listening port, client capabilities, requested pieces, and pieces you upload may be visible to peers, trackers, distributed hash table participants, peer-exchange participants, and network providers.

The App may use DHT, peer exchange, local peer discovery, UPnP, NAT-PMP, uTP, trackers, proxy settings, and VPN-only controls when enabled. Encryption options can protect transport compatibility but do not make torrent activity anonymous. A VPN or proxy provider has its own privacy practices and is not operated by Inferno Tech.

When you cast or share a local stream, the App temporarily makes the selected media available to the receiving device over your local network. Other devices on an untrusted local network may be able to observe network traffic, so casting should only be used on networks and devices you trust.

3. Diagnostics and analytics

The App uses these Google Firebase services:

Analytics and crash-report collection are disabled by default. They are enabled only if you turn on the in-App diagnostics setting, and you can turn that setting off again at any time. Crashlytics collection is also disabled in debug builds.

Google Analytics for Firebase

Analytics may process app-instance information, device and operating-system information, approximate region derived by the service, session information, and general feature-interaction events. We use this information to understand reliability and improve the App. We do not use Analytics for advertising or sell Analytics data.

Firebase Crashlytics

Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, diagnostic logs, app state, device state, operating-system information, and Firebase or Crashlytics installation identifiers. We use this information to diagnose crashes and performance failures.

Our diagnostics are designed not to intentionally transmit downloaded file contents, magnet links, tracker URLs, torrent names, media titles, local file paths, proxy credentials, or stable torrent identifiers. Please do not place personal information in filenames or torrent metadata because third-party torrent participants may still see that information through the peer-to-peer protocol.

Google processes Firebase data as our service provider under its applicable terms and privacy documentation. See Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions and device access

Depending on your Android version and chosen features, the App may request or use:

  • network access to communicate with peers, trackers, DHT nodes, and cast devices;
  • notification permission to display active-transfer, completion, error, and playback notifications;
  • foreground-service access so user-started transfers and playback can continue visibly in the background;
  • wake-lock and network-state access to apply charging, battery, Wi-Fi, thermal, and scheduling controls; and
  • Android's system folder or file picker when you choose an import, export, download, subtitle, or blocklist location.

Net Magnito does not require Android's all-files-access permission. Folder access granted through Android's system picker is limited to the location you select and can be revoked in Android settings.

5. How information is used

Information is handled only to:

  • provide torrent download, upload, streaming, casting, organization, and resume functionality;
  • enforce the settings and controls you select;
  • maintain security, prevent abuse, and investigate failures;
  • improve performance, compatibility, stability, and user experience; and
  • comply with applicable law and valid legal requests.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use downloaded content or torrent activity to build advertising profiles.

6. Sharing

Information may be disclosed:

  • to peers, trackers, DHT participants, cast devices, and network services as technically required by features you initiate;
  • to Google Firebase for Analytics and Crashlytics processing;
  • to a proxy, VPN, DNS, internet, or storage provider you choose; or
  • when required by law, necessary to protect users or the service, or involved in a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

User-initiated peer-to-peer transfer is not a sale of personal information.

7. Retention and deletion

Local torrent records, settings, resume data, caches, and app-private downloads remain until you remove them, clear App storage, or uninstall the App. Files exported to shared storage or a selected folder must be deleted separately.

Firebase Analytics data is retained according to the Firebase property settings and Google's applicable retention terms. Aggregated reports may be retained longer. Firebase Crashlytics generally retains crash stack traces and associated installation identifiers for 90 days before removal begins from live and backup systems.

Net Magnito does not currently provide user accounts. You can remove local App data through Android settings. For a request concerning diagnostic data, contact us using the address below. Because diagnostic records are pseudonymous and are not associated with an account, we may need an app-instance identifier and may not be able to identify a specific record from an email address alone.

8. Security

We use Android application sandboxing, scoped storage or the Storage Access Framework, encrypted transport for our service-provider connections, secure storage for proxy credentials, and release-build security controls. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and peer-to-peer transfers expose information as described above.

9. International processing

Firebase and other providers you select may process information outside your country. Where required, processing is subject to the provider's contractual and legal transfer safeguards.

10. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 or to anyone below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. These rights may be limited where data is pseudonymous, controlled by an independent peer-to-peer participant, or retained for legal reasons.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when App functionality, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the App or store listing when a change is material.
